Pedestrian struck by outbound Metra train at Schaumburg station
A pedestrian was struck by an outbound Metra train at the Schaumburg station early Thursday, halting service along the line.
Metra officials said the collision occurred at about 7:20 a.m.
Initial reports indicate the pedestrian was a male on a bicycle who was transported to a hospital, Metra officials said. The condition of the pedestrian is unknown.
Trains will run east of Schaumburg, but there’s no timetable for returning service fully to the line, officials said.
