Candy Days coming up:

Members of the Lisle Lions Club will be out in yellow aprons distributing rolls of candy and collecting money for charitable projects on Oct. 3 and 10 at major intersections and some businesses. The money goes to support projects for the visually and hearing-impaired, as well as local humanitarian activities. Donations also may be sent to Lisle Lions Club, P.O. Box 481, Lisle IL 60532. Hafenrichter Road to close

Hafenrichter Road on Aurora's far east side will be closed between Barrington Drive East and Whitethorn Drive beginning today, Sept. 29, for road reconstruction. The closure is expected to last six weeks. The detour route will direct drivers to use Eola Road to 87th Street to Normantown Road.

204 community support day

Whole Foods Market in Naperville is sponsoring a Community Support Day on Oct. 15 for Indian Prairie Unit District 204. Five percent of the day's sales will be donated to the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation, which serves schools in portions of Naperville, Aurora, Plainfield and Bolingbrook.

Dist. 203 special ed meeting

Naperville Unit District 203 will hold a meeting at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at its administrative center, 203 W. Hillside Road, to discuss plans for providing special education services to students with disabilities who are home-schooled but live within district boundaries.
