Tricks, training tips at Dog Days of Dundee

Dog Days of Dundee, for families and their dogs, is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Randall Oaks Park, 1180 N. Randall Road, West Dundee.

Monetary and food donations will be accepted with proceeds and items going to local shelters and rescue groups.

The day's activities include:

• 10:30 a.m. Ask a Trainer - Have you ever wanted to ask a professional dog trainer for advice on your dog's behavior problem? This is your opportunity. The trainer will be at the Pet Squad booth.

• 11 a.m. Police K9 Demonstration at demo area - You can see a police dog that is trained specifically to assist police and similar law-enforcement personnel with their work.

• 11:30 a.m. Musical "Sit" Game - Bring your dog and participate in the musical "sit" game at the demo area.

• Noon - Trick Training - Have your dog learn new tricks that will please the entire family. Location is in the demo area.

• 12:30 p.m."Funny Dog Tricks" Contest - Does your dog have a special trick that you have taught him? Participate in the "Funny Dog Tricks" Contest in the demo area and win a prize Preregistration is required.

• 12:45 p.m. Judging for "Pup & Parent Look-alike" Contest - The pup and parent that most resembles each other wins a prize. Preregistration is required. The contest will take place in the demo area.

Registration for the "Funny Dog Tricks" and "Pup & Parent Look-alike" contests will be held at the front of the park at the registration desk.

Visitors can meet with the pet specialty vendors and various rescue groups and the Dundee Animal Hospital will microchip your pet for free. National database registration fee will apply.

All pets must be on leash at all times, under the complete control of the owner and current on all vaccinations. Owners must pick up after their pets.
