Roselle man arrested in Wood Dale break-in
Wood Dale police arrested a Roselle man after a break-in early Monday morning on the 400 block of north Edgewood Drive.
George M. Zulas, 35, whose last known address is 628 S. Roselle Road, has been charged with home invasion, residential burglary, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, authorities said.
Police said Zulas was armed with a gun when he entered a residence about approximately 12:49 a.m. Monday. A woman was home with her grandchildren when the robbery occurred.
Soon after, a male resident arrived home from work and struggled with Zulas until he was disarmed, authorities said. Police officers, responding to a 911 call, arrived while Zulas was being subdued by the man.
In addition to the home invasion, residential burglary, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon charges, Zulas has been charged with possessing a firearm with a revoked license.
Authorities say they are investigating how Zulas obtained the gun. Police have searched his vehicle, which was found in a nearby industrial park, and his residence to recover additional evidence and determine events leading up to the crime.
