Chicago Shamrox Hot Rox Dance Team auditions: 8:15 a.m. Aug. 9, Holiday Inn Northwest, Elgin. The auditions will have two rounds. Women advancing past the first round of tryouts will perform in front of a live studio audience and be judged by a panel of celebrity judges. Fill out an application, submit at least one photo and a $25 audition fee. Dancers must be at least 18 as of Aug. 1. Bandits softball clinic: 6-9 p.m. Aug. 12, Drive Performance, 1543 Abbott Drive, Wheeling. Chicago Bandits players will sign autographs from 6-7 p.m. and conduct hitting and pitching clinics from 7-9 p.m. Cost is $40 for Drive Performance members, $50 for nonmembers, $45 for nonmembers registering in groups of five or more. Chicago White Sox Trip: Motor coach leaves 10:30 a.m. Aug. 14 from the Barn in Paulus Park, 200 S. Rand Road, Lake Zurich. See the Sox play the Kansas City Royals.
