Aurora police find body floating in Fox River

Aurora police are investigating the death of an adult male pulled Wednesday afternoon from the Fox River.

A security guard at nearby Hollywood Casino, One West New York St., called 911 about 2 p.m. Wednesday after spotting the partially decomposed body along a maintenance gangway that runs between a floating barge and the casino pavilion. A fire department dive team retrieved the body.

Police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said the body appeared to have been "in the water for at least a period of several days."

Ferrelli said identification, found on the body indidcated the man was a 50-year-old Aurora resident. He said police were attempting to contact the man's family before releasing his identity.

An autopsy is pending at the Kane County coroner's office.
