Agility trials taking entries in Plano, Crystal Lake

Agility Ability Club of Illinois will hold agility trials on Aug. 9 and 10 at Creekwood Meadows, 232 Creek Road, Plano. Trial secretary is Beth Elliott of Elgin.

Also on Aug. 9 and 10, US Dog Agility Assn. will hold agility trials. They will be at Sports Agility Sports Center, 1310 Ridgefield Road, Crystal Lake. Call Diane at (815) 337-1510 for more information.

Yorkshire Agility Deadline: The Yorkshire terrier Club of America has set 6 p.m. on Aug. 13 as deadline to enter the agility trials (for Yorkshire Terriers only) to be held Sept. 3 and 4 in the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn, 800 South Route 31. Entry fee is $20 plus $15 for additional entry of same dog. Entries and checks made payable to the club go to Pam Wengorovios, Trial Secretary, 5907 W. River Road NE, Belmont, MI 49306-9757. Tracking Deadline: Entries close on Aug. 13 for the Yorkshire Club of America's tracking tests to be held Sept. 1. They will be held at Burnidge Forest Preserve and Paul Wolff Campgrounds, Timber and Coombs roads, in Elgin. Fee is $50 and should be sent with entry to Anne Copeland, Trial Sec'y, 1034 Tulip Way, Palatine, IL 60074-1608.

More deadlines: The Yorkshire terrier Club of America will have a breed specialty on Sept. 5 in the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn. Entry deadline is Aug. 20 and entry fee is $29 plus $14 for second entry of the same dog. Entries go to Carl Yochum, Show Sec'y., P.O. Box 828, c/o Roy Jones Dog Shows, Auburn, IN 46706-0828.

• The Ohio Valley Yorkshire terrier Club of Kentucky will be at the same site on Sept. 6 with entry address the same, however it does not include the added amount for additional entry of same dog.

• Yorkshire terrier Club of Southeastern Michigan will follow on Sept. 7 at the same site with the same fee and address. If you have any questions about these Yorkshire specialties, call (260) 925-0525.

Correctional Clinic: The German Shepherd Dog Training Club of Chicago, Inc, will hold the next Correctional Clinic on Aug. 15 at the Clubhouse, 4925 County Farm Road, Hanover Park. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and judging begins at 7 p.m. Pre-entry fee is $5 per dog plus $3 for additional entry of the same dog. and should be sent to Teri Childers, 894 Somerset Drive, Carol Stream, IL 60188 to arrive by Wednesday before the match. People Note: Julie A. Felten of Wauconda has been approved by AKC on a provisional basis to judge Airedale terriers, miniature schnauzers, soft coated Wheaten terriers and West Highland white terriers.
