Hal Foster exhibit and program
Evanston cartoonist Hal Foster will be the subject of a program for adults and teens titled, "A Tribute to Hal Foster" from 7:30-9 p.m. today at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road. Foster is credited with starting the superhero comic-strip phenomenon in the 1930s. Collector and program presenter Sid Wieskirch of Skokie will host. Auditions set for Dr. Seuss musical
Celebrate the messages and whimsical style of Dr. Seuss set to music and woven together into a touching story by auditioning for a role. Auditions for ages 8-18 are set for July 17, 18 and 19. Kiwanis auditions for talent show
The Kiwanis Club of Streamwood will hold tryouts from 2-3 p.m. July 19 at Gymkhana Gymnastics Club and Dance Studio, 1700 Tower Drive, Hanover Park, for the annual talent show to be performed at the Streamwood Summer Celebration from 4-5 p.m. July 26, in Hoosier Grove Park.
