A DuPage County grand jury indicted a 27-year-old Des Plaines man on charges he used a forged check to buy a classic 1963 Spider-Man comic book from a Naperville store, court records released Wednesday said. Scott K. Meherg, 9112 Hollyberry Ave., is facing two counts of forgery and two counts of theft. He is accused of writing a bad check for $980.99 from LaSalle Bank on Dec. 10 at Graham Crackers Comics in Naperville. A judge has issued a $100,000 warrant for Meherg's arrest.
