Community Pride Awards
Carol Stream is still accepting nominations for its Community Pride Award program, which recognizes property owners and renters for efforts to beautify their homes, apartment complexes or businesses. Nomination forms are available in the village's spring newsletter, the Carol Stream Public Library or at carolstream.org. Nominations are due by June 20. Ribfest needs volunteers
The Naperville Exchange Club is seeking volunteers for its annual Ribfest that will be July 3 to 6 in Knoch Park in Naperville. Individuals, families, business and community groups are welcome. A variety of opportunities are available. For details, visit ribfest.net.
CDH specialist honored
Dr. Roy Sucholeiki, neurology specialist and medical director of Central DuPage Hospital's Comprehensive Seizure and Epilepsy Program, has received the Mickey Tylo Butterfly Award from the American Epilepsy Outreach Foundation. The award is named after AEOF national spokesperson Hunter Tylo's son Mickey, who died from a seizure-related accident in 2007. Sucholeiki, who lives in the western suburbs, serves as the head of the Medical Advisory Council for AEOF and is a member of the Professional Advisory Board of the Chicago chapter of the Epilepsy Foundation.
Wanted: Library trustee
The Winfield Public Library is now accepting applications for a trustee opening on the library board. Linda McNamara, a trustee since 2003, resigned last month. Interested applicants must be Winfield residents age 18 or older. Applicants are asked to submit a letter of interest and resume to the library board by June 27. Concert in Warrenville
Spoken Four, a cover band comprised of four Chicago musicians, is scheduled to perform a free show at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Warrenville's Bob Walters Commons, located between city hall and the Warrenville Public Library. The event is part of the "Concerts on the Commons" series presented by the library with the cooperation of the Warrenville Park District. The library is located at 28W751 Stafford Place.
