• Stacie E. Alderson of Lake Zurich was named to the fall 2007 Vice President's List at Oklahoma City University.
• Kara Edmark of Mundelein was named to the fall 2007 Dean's List at Oklahoma City University.
• Sean Hallarman, son of Dr. Peter S. and Prudence R Hallarman, Lincolnshire, was named to the fall 2007 Dean's List of Emory College, the undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University, Atlanta, Ga. To qualify, students must be in the top 20 percent of Emory College or have a 3.844 GPA or higher.
• Katherine J. Herdmann of Libertyville was named to the fall 2007 Dean's List honors at Saint Joseph's University, Philadelphia, Pa., for achieving at least a grade point average of 3.5.
• Caitlin Colombo of Lake Zurich earned a 4.0 grade-point average for the Fall 2007 semester at Northern Michigan University in Marquette.
• Lauren Nelson, daughter of Keith and Pamela Nelson of Mundelein, was one of 20 student-athletes at Monmouth College recently named to the Midwest Conference All-Academic team for the winter sports season. Nelson, an education major, earned the honor while a member of the Fighting Scots women's swim team. To be named to the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one year at the institution, carry a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and earn a varsity letter in that sport.
• Michael Heffernan of Hawthorn Woods graduated with a bachelor's degree from Elmhurst College at the midyear commencement ceremony held Feb. 10.
• Kristen C. Boden of Lake Zurich, an Illinois State University freshman majoring in communication sciences and disorders-speech pathology and audiology, was recently initiated into Alpha Lambda Delta National Scholastic Honor Society, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. To qualify, students must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and be in the top 20 percent of all university freshmen.
• Staphnie Zarinana of Lake Zurich and Leah Meyer of Libertyville were chosen as University Scholars at Illinois State University, Normal, and will receive a University Scholarship that provides $5,000 for each of four years.
• Elizabeth Edwards McHone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David L. McHone of Libertyville, was named to the 2007 fall semester Dean's List at Ripon College in Wisconsin for achieving a 3.40 grade point average or higher. McHone is a freshman with an undeclared major.
• Beloit College in Wisconsin named the following students to the fall 2007 Dean's List for achieving at least a 3.4 cumulative GPA.

• Augustana College in Rock Island named the following students to the Dean's List for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the winter term.

Libertyville: Hannah L. Boyce, first-year student; Laura A. Dybel, sophomore; Katherine E. Jarosz, sophomore; Kristin N. Murnik, junior majoring in elementary education; Brendan L. • Valparaiso University students are helping present prenatal showers to mothers in Northwest Indiana this spring. New and expectant mothers are learning how they can raise healthy sons and daughters through a series of educational "showers" developed by Valparaiso nursing students this semester. The showers are planned and presented by groups of three or four students as part of the course Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family. The following students are participating in the presentations:
Mundelein: Celestia Arendall, a junior nursing major presenting on the topic of pain relief methods during labor; and Sandra Smetters, a senior nursing major presenting on the topic of postpartum care.
