Briefs: Wal-Mart hearing reset

A rescheduled public hearing for the proposed Wal-Mart Supercenter in West Dundee is set for 7:30 p.m. May 12 at the Randall Oaks Golf Club, 4101 Binnie Road, West Dundee. Wal-Mart representatives are requesting variances to parking lot designs including taller light poles, wider drives and fewer -- but larger -- landscaped islands. The original public hearing was delayed this week when more than 150 people packed the village board room, preventing some audience members from entering the building. Village staff and commissioners voted in favor of relocating the public hearing to a larger venue to accommodate the audience.
