Judson U. signs Huntley's Hamm, Williams for soccer
Signing two of the top recruits in the Northwest Chicago area, Judson University interim women's soccer coach Diego Cevallos has announced that Megan Hamm and Ashley Williams of Huntley will be playing their collegiate careers at Judson.
Hamm and Williams have helped to build a strong Huntley High School team that is in the midst of its best season ever. Both players are four-year starters and helped Huntley to its first-ever regional championship last year.
Huntley is only in the fifth year of girls soccer and is currently 18-1 on the season after winning the Fox Valley Conference Fox Division championship.
Hamm, who has started for Huntley since she was a freshman, has helped to turn around a program that was started in the 2004 season. In each of her four seasons, Huntley improved its record. The co-captain is a three-time all-conference selection and was named to the Daily Herald All-Area team as a junior. Last season, she led her team in assists. She also plays for the Kickers United in Elgin.
Williams is also a four-year varsity starter and was the team's 2006 Offensive Player of the Year. She has also been named to the Fox Valley Conference all-conference team. In club soccer, she helped her team to the 2006 US Club Regional Championship. On a U15 team in 2004, she played on the 3-vs.-3 team that won the national championship and then was on the U16 3-vs.-3 semi-finalists team in 2005.
Judson also announced the signing of Geneva's Angie Kosar.
A three-year varsity letterwinner, Kosar was the leading goal scorer on the freshman team and at the beginning of her sophomore year on varsity.
On the club level, she is part of the state pool for the Illinois ODP team and is on a NSA Premier team.
