Share in District 41's Vision

Glen Ellyn Elementary District 41 is asking community members to join its Vision Project with meetings from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and June 9 and 17 at Lake Ellyn Boathouse, 645 Lenox Road, Glen Ellyn. Order of Purple Heart to meet

The newly relocated Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 144 will meet at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Papworth and Gary avenues, Wheaton. Prospective members eligible for the national organization and who are already members of a DD-214 may apply. The group is holding a convention in June. For details, call (630) 668-8756.

Donate to school in Angola this week

West Chicago's Community High School is seeking donations of school, recreational and medical supplies to ship to Angola. Clothing of all types, especially warm clothing, blankets, crutches, wheelchairs and playground equipment including soccer balls and hula hoops are needed. Painting materials and drop cloths to decorate classrooms also are requested. Donations can be dropped off during school hours or from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday or 6 to 9 p.m. May 30 at the high school, 326 Joliet St., Wet Chicago. West Chicago Elementary District 33 is seeking to fill a board of education vacancy and a foundation trustee vacancy.
