• Allison Elizabeth Davenport of Mundelein, a biology major at Truman State University, Kirksville, was named to the Fall 2007 Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs' List. To qualify, an undergraduate student must attain a semester GPA of 3.50 to 3.99.
• Laura Alice Paparella, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Dominick Paparella of Libertyville, was named to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences' dean's list for the 2007 fall semester at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champign, for achieving a GPA of 3.7. She is a senior majoring in economics and Spanish.
• Giovanni Paparella, son of Dr. and Mrs. Dominick Paparella of Libertyville, and a freshman at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, was named to the dean's list for the 2007 fall semester with a GPA of 3.8.
• Sarah J. Wierzgacz, daughter of David and Donna Wierzgacz of Mundelein, received the Central Illinois Chapter of the American Marketing Association Outstanding Student Award, which is presented to a senior marketing major selected by the marketing faculty in the School of Business at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston. Wierzgacz is a 2003 graduate of Mundelein HIgh School.
• Ryan Taylor Everding of Libertyville was named to the Fall 2007 Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs' List at Truman State University, Kirksville, Mo. To qualify, an undergraduate student must attain a semester GPA of 3.50 to 3.99. He is majoring pre-business administration.
• Lauren Nelson, daughter of Keith and Pamela Nelson of Mundelein, and a Monmouth College sophomore, was one of 20 student-athletes recently named to the Midwest Conference All-Academic team for the winter sports season. The education major is a member of the Fighting Scots women's swim team. To be named to the MWC's All-Academic team, a student-athlete must complete at least one year at the institution, carry a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and earn a varsity letter in that sport.
• Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., announced the following students were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2007 semester. Students and their majors include the following:
Hawthorn Woods: Kara Buffardi, marketing; Christopher Caparelli, finance; Stewart Cloer, political science; Dorothy Jenke, interdisciplinary international affairs; Blake Kurinsky, computer engineering; and Elizabeth Scott, exercise science.
Lake Zurich: Timothy Kirberg, advertising; Megan Knight, biomedical sciences; Kristin Lastres, advertising; Lisa Lauterbach, speech pathology and audiology; and Amy Petraglia, exercise science.
Libertyville: Mary Hamilton, social welfare and justice; Patrick Lehman, biomechanics; Rebecca Lehman, biomedical sciences; Patricia Marra, undeclared; Jeffrey Moy, electrical and electronic engineering; Christopher Toth, marketing; and Christin Zwolski, exercise science.
