Open your ears to marsh music
Marsh Music, a program for all ages, is scheduled from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Exner Marsh, Lakewood entrance, Lake in the Hills.
Would you like to see and hear the magic of the marsh without having to hike far? This beginning bird-watching program will introduce you to the sights and sounds of marsh bird life with games, activities and bird viewing from a platform observation deck. Binoculars and a spotting scope will be provided. Dress for the weather.

Program teaches sleight of hand
The Lake in the Hills Parks & Recreation Department has a magical new program available for kids ages 5 to 12. Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn a collection of fascinating and mesmerizing tricks in a magic class taught by Gary Kantor. Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading skills and much more.
All materials are provided. Each participant will receive a magic kit to take home. Children are grouped together by and always learn tricks that are age appropriate.
Class is scheduled from 7 to 7:55 p.m. May 15 in the village hall community room. Resident fee is $18; nonresident fee is $22.
