Santora's big day leads
Hannah Santora struck out six in a six-inning no-hitter and had a double, triple, run scored and run batted in to lead Glenbard North past Streamwood 10-0 in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday in Carol Stream.
Jenny Nelson was 2-for-4 with 3 runs scored, Alyssa Jasinski 3-for-3 with 4 RBI and Bri DiGioia scored 3 runs. DiGioia went 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI in Glenbard North's 8-1 win in the second game. Melanie Kneisel struck out seven to notch her first varsity win for the Panthers (9-6).
Naperville Central 7-5, St. Charles North 0-4: Katie Bradley's game-winning hits helped host Naperville Central (11-3) to the nonconference doubleheader sweep. Pitcher Natalie Wunderlich (9-2) hit a 2-run triple and earned a complete-game win in the first game, in which Lizzy Ploen had a 2-run single. In Game 2 Wunderlich got the win in relief of her sister, Alyssa. Maggie Buoy's running catch in right field with two runners on in the sixth stymied St. Charles North, and in the bottom half Bradley's RBI single scored Maggie Thomas with the winning run. Ploen went 2-for-3 with an RBI double.
Neuqua Valley 9, Rosary 0: Jenna Marsalli went 2-for-3 with a 3-run home run and Hailey Jackson struck out 10 for Neuqua Valley (10-9), which won its fifth straight game. Summer McKenzie was 3-for-4 with 2 runs batted in and Haley Bork 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.
Fenton 7, Immaculate Conception 0: Amber Schwarzinger struck out 15 in no-hitting Immaculate Conception in Bensenville. Deanna Vazquez went 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored and Stephanie Pingel had a bases-clearing triple for Fenton (13-5), which won its 12th straight.
Timothy Christian 7-11, Wheaton Academy 1-5: Kari LeGrand went 4-for-4 with 3 RBI and Lauren Hansberger had a single, double, homer and 3 RBI for Timothy Christian (10-7, 8-0 Private School League) in the second game of a conference doubleheader. Janna Strodtman (10-7), who won both games, struck out nine in the opener.
