Raise funds for kidney transplant

Living Lord Lutheran Church in Bartlett and Church of the Holy Spirit in Schaumburg are raising funds Saturday for a kidney transplant for 21-year-old Zuleica Arano Estrada of Hanover Park.

She's been battling end-stage renal disease for eight years, spending her nights on kidney dialysis, but now needs a kidney transplant. Estrada's older brother died at 15 of kidney disease 18 years ago when the family was living in Veracruz, Mex.

The Candle Light Bowl benefit will start with a buffet dinner at 8:30 p.m. followed by bowling at 9:30 p.m. at Woodview Lanes, 11 Woodview Drive in Elgin.

The $25 tickets include dinner, three games of bowling and shoe rental. There will also be raffle prizes.

Tickets are available at both sponsoring churches. For information, contact Sister Marianne Supan at Church of the Holy Spirit at (847) 882-7580 or Marianne.S@churchoftheholyspirit.org.
