Lutheran General doctor honored
Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, honored Dr. Richard N. Messersmith, a radiology specialist, with its 2007 C.L. Crean award for partnership in practice.
Messersmith, an 18-year Lutheran General Hospital medical staff veteran, was recognized by fellow teammates as a physician who personifies the ideal of clinical partnership between doctors and nurses.
• Queen of the Rosary School, Elk Grove Village, recognized Chris Schiffer, a longtime lunch mom, and Gwen deLutio, an innovative teacher, with its Heart of the School award for outstanding contributions to the school.
• Jean Schlinkmann, Schaumburg Park District's executive director, and Larry Shoemake of Palatine, a case manager at Schaumburg's Kenneth Young Center, have been elected to the board of directors of Friendship Senior Options, the nonprofit that oversees Friendship Village of Schaumburg.
• Tastefully Simple consultant Claudine Burns, Mount Prospect, earned the company's Top Team Sales in Location Award.
• Irma Ruvalcava of Elk Grove Village and Sylvia Lam of Palatine have advanced to coordinators as independent distributors for Market America, an Internet marketing company.
• Schaumburg attorney Steven M. Shaykin was re-elected to the board of directors of the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association for a three-year term. Shaykin, the principal of the Law Offices of Steven M. Shaykin P.C. in Schaumburg, concentrates in real estate, business, estate planning, personal injury and traffic law.
• The Women in Toys organization honored Julia Fitzgerald, vice president of marketing for VTech Electronics North America, Arlington Heights, with its 2008 Wonder Woman of Toys Manufacturer Award, for embodying the spirit of the toy industry through her leadership and dedication. Fitzgerald has spent the past five years leading VTech's strategic marketing initiatives.
