Treat yourself and your pet to a special massage
You can register now for the Pooch and Parent Spa sponsored by Palatine's Muddy Paws Kennels which will be held from noon until at least 6 p.m. April 26.
Canine Massage Therapist Kathy Drelicharz will see that the dogs get their baths and massages, and their human parents get chair massages.
There will also be refreshments and an auction, which includes Chicago Rush tickets, gift certificates for local restaurants, skating passes and more. During the afternoon canine and parent mingling will also be encouraged.
A portion of the proceeds go toward the construction of the Arlington Heights Buddy Foundation's shelter and there will also be bricks for sale.

VST Tests: Glenbard All-Breed Obedience Club will hold Variable Surface Tracking Tests April 20 on the grounds of Northern Illinois University at Lincoln Highway and Annie Gidden Road in DeKalb. Trial secretary is Michael Schurgot of Yorkville.
Tracking deadline: The German Shepherd Dog Training Club of Chicago has set April 24 as the deadline to enter its Tracking Tests May 4 at Hawk Hollow/Mallard Lake Forest Preserve on Lawrence Avenue in Hanover Park. DTC deadlines: Lyons Township Dog Training Club has set 6 p.m. April 23 as the deadline to enter its Agility Trials to be held on their weekend of trials May 10 and 11. Greyhound Meet 'n Greet: This is the weekend for Crystal Lake's PetsMart Meet 'n Greet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4465 U.S. Highway 14 (corner of routes 31 and 14).
Greyhounds and their owners will be there to meet old friends and make new ones as they hope to find potential adopters and to raise money for the 40-plus hounds waiting adoption.
