Concert to feature an array of cantors
Congregation Beth Am will present a concert featuring songs from diverse genres such from liturgical music to musical theater.
The Melanie Karsen Memorial Cantorial Concert at 8 p.m. April 5 will feature Congregation Beth Am's Cantor Diane Yomtov, as well as Cantor Emeritus Arnold Schultz and several guest performers from around the country. The concert will also feature Congregation Beth Am's Adult and Youth Choirs, as well as an ensemble of teen musicians.
Admission is $18 in advance, $25 at the door for adults; $10 in advance and $15 at the door for children. Included in the cost of the evening is a dessert reception immediately following the concert.

Volunteers sought for art festival
The seventh annual BG Invitational Fine Art Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 19-20 at the Buffalo Grove Town Center. More than 150 artists will be on site from around the nation. All media, including painting, sculpture, wood, ceramics, photography, jewelry, glass, fine crafts and others will be featured and available for sale.
Volunteers are needed to help register artists, serve as booth sitters for the artists, help with promotion and marketing, and many other areas.

Harper will host college night
The annual College Night at Harper College, Euclid and Roselle Roads, Palatine, will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 8 in the Harper College Wellness and Sport Center in Building M.
Harper's College Night will host representatives from over 200 colleges and universities throughout the nation. More information is at the College/Career offices at any District 214 school, or call (847) 925-6000.
Walk to raise funds to fight blindness
The Chicago Chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness will sponsor its annual Vision Walk June 8. Registration will start 8:30 a.m. and the walk will start at 10 a.m. The walk will start at Soldier Filed and continue along the lakefront.
Money raised will go to research to help find a cure for several caused of blindness.

Small ensembles to perform at library
Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band annual small ensemble recital
Small ensembles made up of members from the 70-member Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band will perform at 2 p.m. March 30 at the Vernon Area Library, 300 Olde Half Day Road, Lincolnshire. Admission is free.
This intimate spring recital features the woodwind, brass and saxophone quartets, a woodwind octet and several other musical combinations. For information, call the Vernon Area Library at (847) 634-3650.
