Whisper Creek to host show,lunch

Whisper Creek will host its first Ladies Trunk Show and Buffet Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 9 in Drendal Ballroom, Sun City, Huntley.

Nike, Greg Norman, Gear, Brighton, and Ashworth will showcase their 2008 "active wear" clothing and jewelry. You don't have to be a golfer nor a Sun City resident to enjoy owning and wearing active wear. Samples will be available to try on, orders will be taken and savings will be offered.

The gourmet buffet luncheon, catered by Twelfth Night, will be $14 if paid by Thursday, and $20 on the day of the event. This includes soft drinks, taxes and gratuity. Door prizes will be awarded.

Run thru the Hills set for April 13

Join the Lake in the Hills Parks & Recreation Department for the ninth annual Run Thru the Hills event April 13.

Bring the whole family. There are walk, run, and strolling distances for all levels. Each participant will receive a technical race shirt and "goodie bag", as wells as the opportunity to enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast provided by the Lake in the Hills Rotary Club. Pre-registration is available online at www.lith.org. Early packet pick up and registration is available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 12 at Running Depot, 30-E N. Williams St. in Crystal Lake.

Race-day registration begins at 6:30 a.m. The 5K/10K race begins at 8 a.m. followed by the kids' molehill races at 9:15 a.m. All races begin and end at the Lake in the Hills Movie Theater, 311 Randall Road in Lake in the Hills.
