Briefs: Students fall ill at school
Two students passed out Wednesday morning at St. Thomas the Apostle School in Crystal Lake, and a dozen others complained of dizziness, nausea, headaches, stomach aches and of feeling flushed, authorities said. Two students were treated and released from area hospitals while 15 others were evaluated on the scene. The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department found that all the samples they took of the school's air was normal after initial tests. More atmospheric evaluations are pending.
Autism center fundraiser
The Alexander Leigh Center for Autism in Lake in the Hills will hold a fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. Registration for Hampshire Park District's little people playtime preschool program runs 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the preschool, 441 E. Jefferson Ave. Birth certificate, proof of residency and a $55 registration fee are required. March 15 is open registration for nonresidents. Registration is continuous throughout the summer and school year. Early registration is encouraged.
