• A Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS device was taken when a 2000 Saturn SL2 was burglarized between 4:40 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday on a driveway on the 600 block of Chandler Avenue. The burglar broke a window.

• Casey A. Gemeny Jr., 38, of 24 Briar Lane, faces felony charges of residential burglary and criminal damage to property. Police said he broke a window of a home on the 700 block of Oak Street and took a 5-gallon jug full of coins between 12:50 and 1:50 p.m. Wednesday. He is also accused of breaking two sections of wood fencing and two glass doors at a home on the 800 block of Oak at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday. Bond was set at $500,000. In January, Gemeny was charged with home invasion and residential burglary, accused of stealing from homes on Valley Lane and Briar. During one, he was interrupted by a resident and was accused of threatening the resident with a knife, authorities said.

• Samantha N. Shodeen, 21, of 0N406 Dooley Drive, Geneva, was charged with speeding and providing false information, after hitting a pedestrian at 2:50 p.m. March 18 at Peck and Bricher roads, police said. Ben R. Macalaguin, 59, of 1807 Williamsburg Drive in Streamwood, was taken to Delnor-Community Hospital.

Kane County

• A resident of the 1000 block of Pershing Street in Aurora Township reported someone ran into his 2000 Dodge Intrepid between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday while the car was parked in front of the house. An unknown vehicle struck the rear bumper and left the scene, causing about $400 in damage.

• A GPS unit, a radar detector, a cell phone charger and change were stolen from a 2001 BMW between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday while it was parked on Bonnie Court in St. Charles Township.

St. Charles

• Maria G. Hernandez, 20, of 1219 Bishop St., West Chicago, was arrested at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday and charged with felony retail theft after stealing $252 in clothes and jewelry from Kohl's, 3840 E. Main St., police said. Hernandez's bond was set Thursday at $15,000.

• Brett Kristensen, 34, of 842 Midway Drive, Batavia, was arrested Tuesday and charged with battery, police said. Kristensen is accused of choking a man March 20 at Li'l Jim's Tavern, 221 S. Second St., reports stated.

• Ronald A. Haley, 45, of 7N151 Pakan Drive, was arrested at 8:01 p.m. March 22 and charged with drunken driving and improper lane usage after crashing a vehicle into a guardrail on the 2500 block of North Fifth Avenue, police said. No injuries were reported. Haley posted $100 bail and was released with a May 14 court date.
