Little League

Babe Ruth baseball: Registration for the Crystal Lake Babe Ruth Baseball League will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Main Beach, off Dole Avenue in Crystal Lake. Openings are available in all levels.

Youths who will be ages 13 to 18 by May 1 and live in McHenry County can register to play. All new players will need to bring a birth certificate to verify age. There is no mail-in or online registration forms.

Forms can be downloaded and filled out before registration at www.clbr.org. Tryouts will be held March 2 at the Crystal Lake Central High School field house. For information, call (815) 356-RUTH or visit www.clbr.org.

Central District Baseball League: The Central District Baseball League will have walk-in registration from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 16 at Burlington Central High School, 44W625 Plato Road.

Online registration will be at the league's Web site, www.cdbaseball.org.

Mail registration forms and checks can be sent to: Central District Baseball League, P.O. Box 5551, Elgin, IL 60121-5551. The deadline for league registration is Feb. 23. Opening day for the season is scheduled for April 19.

The district is open to players who live within the Central Unit District 301 boundaries, which includes portions of Burlington, Elgin, Plato Center, Maple Park and St. Charles.

Players ages 5 to 17 compete in T-Ball (ages 5-6), Pinto (ages 7-8), Mustang (ages 9-10), Bronco (ages 11-12), Pony (ages 13-14), and Colt (ages 15-17).

Elgin National: The Elgin National Little League will hold late registration and tryouts from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 23 in the field house at The Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way. Players ages 5 to 18 must reside north of Park Street and Bode Road to I-90 and east of the Fox River to Route 59.
