Obedience club to host Fun Match March 7

Setter Specialty:ŒWestern Irish Setter Club will hold a breed Specialty March 8 and 9 in the Stone City Kennel Club Building, Cedar and Laraway roads, New Lenox. Included will be conformation, Junior Showmanship, obedience and sweepstakes.
Entry deadline:ŒFox Valley Dog Training Club has set March 12 as the deadline to enter its Agility Trials on March 29 and 30 at Sports Plex, 1400 Foundry St., St. Charles. The entry fee is $24 plus $14 for an additional entry of the same dog. Entries, plus fees payable to the club, go to Sharon Ehr, Trial Secretary, 64 Oak Valley Drive, Cary, IL 60013. New classes:ŒThe College of Lake County has a class scheduled March 15 on the Grayslake campus that will teach you how to read your dog's strange behavior. People notes:ŒJulie Felten of Wauconda completed her provisional assignments and has now been approved by AKC to judge Norfolk and Welsh terriers.
• Christine Engelsman of Glen Ellyn also completed her provisional assignments and has been approved by AKC to judge Junior Showmanship.

Shop for the Shelter:ŒSome of you may read this in time to attend Anderson Animal Shelter's Shop for the Shelter fundraiser. It takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the shelter, 1000 S. LaFox (Route 31) in South Elgin. The community may examine a selection of products from Cookie Lee Jewelry, Homemade Gourmet, Mary Kay, NR Image Consulting, PartyLite, Stampin' Up and Tastefully Simple. A representative will be present from each to demonstrate and sell items, and a large portion of the proceeds will benefit the shelter. There is no admission charge.
