Fire destroys truck in Addison

An Addison metal finishing and fastener sorting company is short one truck today after an early evening fire. Fire officials said they were called to a 6 p.m. fire alarm at SWD, Inc., 910 S. Stiles Dr., to find plant workers trying to find the cause of the smoke. "We arrived and saw quite a bit of smoke pouring from the back of the building and we traced it to a semi that was parked in the rear loading docks," Capt. Jim Burke said. "It appears to have been an electrical fire in the tractor's wiring system." None of the workers were injured but Burke said the truck was totaled.
