The bat was found Dec. 28 in a house on the 900 block of Aurora Avenue. The health department received the results Thursday. Statewide, there were 113 confirmed cases of rabies in animals in 2007. Humans can become infected when bitten by a rabid animal or when an infected animal's saliva comes in contact with a person's eye, nose, mouth, a scratch or wound.
