Cary Grove chamber names new board of directors

The Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced its 2008 board of directors. The slate was approved at the chamber's November board meeting.

The new board will begin serving the business community in January.

The chamber leadership consists of five executive board members and 14 board members who donate their time to local business and a host of community events.

The new board will officially sign contracts committing their time and devotion to serving the Cary Grove Area Chamber at the Jan. 25 board meeting.

Board members are expected to volunteer to the chamber and community, attend chamber events, participate in planning committees, monitor village meetings, share their expertise, take initiative and provide leadership and continually promote the chamber in the community.

Their involvement impacts the chamber's ability to move forward and serve its membership.

Board meetings are generally held at 7:30 p.m. the last Friday of the month at the Fox River Grove village hall, 305 Illinois St. Members are welcome to attend.

The 2008 board includes: president Chuck Barrett of Frisch & Barrett Insurance Agency; vice president and treasurer Joe McVicker of Cary Bank & Trust; second vice president Richard Heizer of Heizer Engineering; secretary Nancy Kaveney of Harris Bank-Cary; past president John McHugh, Leader ACE Hardware and ACE Rental Place in Fox River Grove.
