Martin Luther King Jr. Day events

• The Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast, co-sponsored by Benedictine University and College of DuPage, will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Krasa Center at Benedictine, 5700 College Road, Lisle. • The People's Resource Center will host an open house featuring Bernie Kleina's award-winning photographs of King and the civil rights movement. The event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at 201 S. Naperville Road in Wheaton. There will be small group discussions at 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. on how to respond to the issues of war, racism and poverty. • The DuPage County Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration will be at Wheaton College's Edman Memorial Chapel, 401 Franklin St., Wheaton at 6:15 p.m. Monday. The event is free.

• Congregation Etz Chaim will host Jorge Mujica, a community organizer and former journalist, to discuss present-day civil rights issues at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The event, which is the synagogue's annual Martin Luther King Jr. program, will be at Congregation Etz Chaim, 1710 S. Highland Ave., Lombard. Cost is free. For details, call (630) 627-3912.
