Lakemoor man charged in home invasion, attack

A Lakemoor man wanted by police on outstanding warrants for home invasion, armed violence, robbery and aggravated battery to a pregnant woman was arrested in Wonder Lake Wednesday morning, McHenry County Sheriff officials said.

Brian J. Adams, 39, of Lakemoor, was arrested by the U.S. Marshall's Warrants Apprehension Unit and the McHenry County Sheriff's Department, officials said.

He is currently being held in McHenry County jail in lieu of $150,000 bond, officials from the McHenry County state's attorney's office said. Adams is due back in court at 9 a.m. Friday.

Adams was also charged with aggravated battery on a public way and two counts of mob action in two separate incidents that took place in Woodstock in mid-November, officials said.

Police said Adams, along with 21-year-old Joshua Ury of Lakemoor and 36-year-old Kenneth L. Nolting of Wonder Lake, forced their way into a Woodstock home on Nov. 17 and hit the homeowner with an aluminum baseball bat. Officials said the three went to the home to confront the victim over a child custody issue, officials said.

The men also allegedly committed robbery and battered the pregnant woman when they approached a couple in Woodstock on Nov. 17 asking for a ride back to Wonder Lake. When the victim declined to give them a ride, they attacked the man, stole several items in his possession, and pushed the victim's pregnant girlfriend to the ground.

Adams was arrested at Nolting's Wonder Lake home. Nolting, who was listed as one of McHenry County's Top 10 fugitives before being captured, was picked up by police Monday morning in Indiana. Ury was arrested Nov. 24, officials said.
