Elk Grove Rotary Club helps students

The Rotary Club Of Elk Grove 2009 Scholarship winners for the 2009-2001 school year were: Nicholas Wojtas, Jessica Lorch, Joseph O'Malley, Eric Peterson, Joseph Wimmer, Robert Holzheimer, Kristen Ottosen, Kelsey Lyles, Jaclyn Smith, Thomas Tasche and Sonalie Patel.

The Rotary Club Of Elk Grove awarded a total of $12,000.00 in scholarships in 2009. Winners were chosen on the basis of their community service, a written essay and in-school activities. Scholarships were awarded for colleges ranging from William Rainey Harper College to Princeton University.

Scholarship applications for the 2010-2011 year will be available starting Monday, Nov. 16. Applications can be downloaded at elkgroverotary.com or picked up at Elk Grove and James B Conant high schools.
