'Girls of the Garden Club' at Palatine

Palatine High School presents "The Girls of the Garden Club," 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the school's Altergott Auditorium, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road in Palatine. This comedy is the story of a middle-aged suburban housewife who tricks her husband into building her a greenhouse when she becomes the president of her garden club. Tickets: $5 students and children; $7 adults.

'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' at Conant

The Conant High School drama club performs "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," based upon the famous novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the school's auditorium, 700 E. Cougar Trail, Hoffman Estates. Tickets: $6 for students/senior citizens; $7 adults.

Palatine Show Choir Forte garage sale

The Palatine High School show choir, Forte, will hold its annual garage sale, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the school's cafeteria, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road in Palatine. Clothing, electronics, holiday effects, music, videos, games, toys, kitchen wares, small appliances, furniture and art will be there. Those donating used cell phones will receive a voucher for up to $2 off any purchase. The garage sale is a fundraiser for the show choir competition season.

Schaumburg says, 'Bye Bye Birdie'

Schaumburg High School presents its fall musical, "Bye Bye Birdie" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the school's Weimer Auditorium, 1100 W. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg. Tickets are $9 for students; $10 for adults.

Get loud and proud at Spirit Challenge

Conant High School will host the Conant Spirit Challenge, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the school's main gymnasium, 700 E. Cougar Trail in Hoffman Estates. The event is a grade 8 and lower cheer and pom competition. All-star teams are scheduled to compete, as well as local park district cheer teams and dance troupes. Exhibition teams also are welcome. The event is a fundraiser for the CHS cheerleading and pompon squads.
