St. Viator rolls on in 2A sectional semis

This was one was a lot closer than the first two postseason matches for the St. Viator boys soccer team.

But the top-seeded Lions (20-4-1) still prevailed Tuesday afternoon in the Class 2A Elmwood Park sectional semifinal with a 3-0 victory over fourth-seeded Fenton.

Viator won its first two regional games by a combined 16-1 score.

Alan Aboona and Trevor Wheeler were the perfect 1-2 combination for the Lions. Aboona scored twice off Wheeler feeds and Aboona set up Wheeler's goal.

Scott Faul got the shutout in goal for the Lions, who play for the title at 4 p.m. Friday against Wells, a 3-2 winner over CICS/Northtown.
