Hersey's Rogowski stays on a roll
Hersey junior girls golfer Megan Rogowski has been on roll lately and Thursday at Rob Roy Golf Course in Prospect Heights did not slow down the talented athlete.
Rogowski, also an all-area basketball standout, fired a par 36 to edge defending Class 4A champ Kris Yoo of Conant by 1 stroke as the Huskies posted a 175-180 victory over the visiting Cougars.
Completing the Hersey scorecard were Catherine Park (44), Nikki Gierman (46) and Sarah Jurczak (48) as the Huskies finished Mid-Suburban League dual and tri-meet play with an 8-3 record.
"Megan has really been playing well the last few weeks," said Huskies coach Bob Murphy. "She lipped out a putt on the ninth hole which would given her a birdie and one-under par score."
Palatine wins: Lisa Tomlinson (46) and Kelli Burke (47) led Palatine to a score of 192 to defeat Schaumburg (244) and Elk Grove (254) at the Schaumburg Golf Club.
