Sign up now for 'Paul's Run for Epilepsy' Oct. 3
A 21-year-old from Prospect Heights who died in October 2008 from epilepsy, is the motivation behind "Paul's Run for Epilepsy" on Oct. 3, 2009 in Prospect Heights.
The fundraiser is in memory of Paul Schmidt, who battled epilepsy for seven years and died at 21 from Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy, or SUDEP.
Race proceeds will benefit Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy, or CURE, which has raised more than $9 million toward research and public awareness.
There are several levels of sponsorships:
• Diamond. For a donation of $2,500, the sponsor will be recognized as a lead sponsor of Paul's Run, the company name and logo will appear on the T-shirt front and on signs at the race.
• Platinum. For $1,000, the company name/logo will be prominently displayed on the T-shirt back in extra large font, and on signs.
• Gold. For $500, the company name/logo will be prominently displayed on T-shirt back in large font, and on signs.
• Silver. For $200, the company name will be on the T-shirt back.
• Bronze. For $100, the company name will be on the T-shirt back.
Donors of any amount will be named on the Web site, and any amount is appreciated. Please make checks payable to "CURE." All sponsors are welcome to provide fliers, coupons or samples for race packets given to each participant; about 250 runners are anticipated.
Please direct all donations and inquiries to the race organizers, Paul's aunt and uncle, Merry and Dwayne Wurster, 4620 Kelly Road, Island Lake; (847) 639-7061.
