Hersey clinches MSL East crown

Guess who is returning to the Mid-Suburban League girls volleyball championship match?

Coach Nancy Lill's Hersey Huskies have made it again - for the 14th time since 1990, to be exact.

The Huskies (22-1, 9-0) clinched the Mid-Suburban East Division title at Rolling Meadows on Wednesday night with a 25-10, 25-11 victory.

Senior Katie Lill put down a match-high 9 kills, while junior Christina Solans added 7 and senior Maddie Swan 5 to lead the attack set by senior Joanna Hoffman (24 assists).

Sophomore Jenni Mueller served 5 aces for the East champs, while Solans had 2.

Sparking the defense were senior Becca Haraf (12 digs), Solans (8), Hoffman (8) and Lill (4).

Rolling Meadows (7-15, 3-6) was led by Kelly Adair and Samantha Rosinski, who each had 4 kills, while Jackie Rosinski added 2. Emily Nelms handed out 9 assists, and Samantha Rosinski was 8-of-10 serve receiving and collected 11 digs.
