Man shot in Schaumburg

A 22-year-old Winfield man was shot in the leg four times in Schaumburg early Sunday but not seriously injured. Schaumburg police said the shooting occurred during an altercation involving several people at just before 3 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of American Lane. No arrests had been reported as of late Monday, but police said they consider a 26-year-old DuPage County man the prime suspect. Police do not believe there's a lingering public safety threat. The victim was treated at and released from Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
