Lexi Glennon kept Queen of Peace players on their toes Saturday at the Lyons Township tourney.
Prospect's 5-foot-9 senior guard collected 7 steals as the Knights won 62-51 for their second straight tourney win and third overall.
"She just picked them out of the air," said Knights coach Martha Kelly. "I've said before Lexi is one of the top defenders in the area."
Sarah Hunt (13 points), Rachel Hunt (10) and Alyssa Baker (9) led Prospect on offense and each one collected 7 rebounds. Teammate Sarah Winans scored 8 points and handed out 4 assists.
"What I like is we're holding our poise late in games," Kelly added. "When teams battle back on us, we keep pushing and pushing."
St. Viator 50, Streamwood 45: Taylor Scala (19 points, 3 assists), Meghan Malone (9 points, 3 rebounds) and Ronnie Mack (9 points, 11 rebounds) led St. Viator, which is now 1-1 in the Dundee-Crown Thanksgiving tourney.
Jacobs 41, Fremd 39: Fremd's first loss was a close one as Gianna Abruzzo led the Vikings (2-1) with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Teammate Taylor Glassmann added 9 points.
St. Charles East 55, Schaumburg 48: Playing its third game in its own Thanksgiving tournament, Schaumburg (1-2) was led by Taylor Kosla (14 points) and Alyssa Saklak (9).
Waubonsie Valley 56, Conant 36: Kim Davis' 9 points were tops for Conant (1-1) in the Waubonsie Valley tourney contest.
Highland Park 34, Rolling Meadows 33: Sara Shumaker's 8 points led Rolling Meadows in the Mundelein tournament game.
Wheeling 66, Niles North 33: Wheeling (3-0) rolled to its third straight win and second in the Niles North tournament.
