Outlook: These rivals don't play for a trophy, just pride. The Jacobs players have walked tall after this game in recent years. The Golden Eagles have won six straight against the Chargers, narrowing D-C's all-time series lead to 16-10. Each team faces a winnable game for the first time in weeks and each hopes to correct the problems that have plagued them of late. But effort from first kick to the last play will be the emphasis on both sidelines. "We need to play aggressively throughout the game from start to finish," Jacobs coach Dean Schlueter said. "That's what I'm looking for, to play aggressively, be sharp on our assignments and really get after it on every play. That's what we have to do." Said D-C coach Mike Davis: "We need to keep the pressure on them and not give them any confidence on offense. But we've been struggling defensively, so we have to avoid giving them a big play so they don't gain confidence. With the exception of the Crystal Lake South game, we've moved the ball pretty well. They go hard, their kids are aggressive. It's not like they're going to lay down, that's for sure." Davis credited the play of defensive lineman John Boyle and receivers Alex Thompson and Steve Schwartz. Sophomore defensive back Caz Zyks has played aggressively, Schlueter said. The Dundee-Crown offensive line has given up only 3 sacks this season despite averaging 20 passes per game.
