Cook County briefs

Roselle woman in rollover:

A weekend rollover crash on Touhy Avenue in Elk Grove Township put a Roselle woman in the hospital, a Cook County Sheriff's police spokeswoman said. The accident occurred at 2 p.m. Sunday when a Mitsubishi Eclipse exiting a store at 423 W. Touhy Ave. attempted to make a left turn onto westbound Touhy and struck the passenger side of a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo heading eastbound, police said. The Jeep flipped over three lanes of traffic and landed on the far right lane of eastbound Touhy, police said. The injured 29-year-old female driver of the Jeep was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Her condition is unknown, Cook County Sheriff's police spokeswoman Brittney Blair said. The 24-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi, Marcus Pepin of Elk Grove Village, was cited for failure to yield when making a left turn. Neither Pepin nor the passenger in his vehicle were injured, police said.

Man now in serious condition:

The Elgin man hurt in Friday's two-vehicle crash in Bartlett has been upgraded from critical to serious condition. Christopher J. Musatto, 38, remains at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, a hospital spokeswoman said Monday. While driving east on Lake Street, his 1971 Ford Mustang crossed into the westbound lanes near Old Lake Street, police said. A 1997 Ford F-150 then smashed into the car's passenger's side before the Mustang stopped in a ditch on the north side of the road, police said. The 27-year-old female driver of the truck wasn't hurt.
