Scouting Libertyville @ Mundelein

Libertyville (4-4, 2-3) at Mundelein (1-7, 0-5)

When: 7:30 p.m.

Last week: Libertyville lost to Warren, 42-21; Mundelein lost to Zion-Benton, 21-19.

Skinny: Mundelein's field, which was waterlogged during some heavy rains earlier in the season and has since taken a beating, is expected to be a bit of a Mud Bowl for this game. But Libertyville, which will be in its road white uniforms, has a plan to deal with the mess. "I don't even think we're going to wear our regular uniforms," Libertyville coach Randy Kuceyeski said. "We're probably going to wear our old sophomore uniforms."-But the Wildcats can't focus on whether or not they might lose style points. They simply just can't lose. A loss would make Libertyville ineligible for the upcoming state playoffs. A win and Libertyville would likely qualify with five wins and enough playoff points. "But we really are only focused on Mundelein," Kuceyeski said. "If we can't win this game, the playoffs won't matter,"-The Wildcats will be facing a Mundelein team that has had a rough ride. The Mustangs have lost their last three games and haven't gotten a victory since Week 5 against Wauconda. Mundelein has scored only 64 points on the season, which averages to just 8 points a game. That's the second-lowest number of points in the entire North Suburban Conference, behind Round Lake in the Prairie Division-Libertyville is also coming off a rough week. The Wildcats turned the ball over five times against Warren, four of which came on lost fumbles-Libertyville's passing game has been solid in recent weeks. Quarterback A.J. Schurr passed for 145 yards and a touchdown last week.
