Lake Co. Wrap: Mundelein 88, Vernon Hills 73
Mundelein's boys basketball got a much-needed team effort and victory Tuesday night.
Eric Pagsanjan led the way with 20 points, as the Mustangs defeated host Vernon Hills 88-73 to snap their six-game losing streak.
Ben Brust and Phillip Bregenzer added 14 and 10, respectively for Mundelein (17-11), while Kevin Barber chipped in 9. The Mustangs received 7 points apiece from Kevin Blackowicz, Aaron Metzger, Ken Branch and Navjot Singh.
Vernon Hills (12-14) received a season-high 27 points from freshman DaVaris Daniels, who scored in double digits for the eighth straight game.
Kenny Rideout and Chris Morgan each had 13 points for the Cougars.
Stevenson 58, Grant 51: Kevin Stineman scored 19 points, as the visiting Patriots won their fifth straight game.
Dylan Richter and Henry Wood added 16 and 11 points, respectively, for Stevenson (19-7).
Mike Shields had 19 points for Grant (15-10), which led 18-9 after one quarter but got outscored 19-6 in the second quarter to trail 28-24 at halftime. Gilbert Sheehan scored 13 points for the Bulldogs.
Johnsburg 63, Grayslake N. 55: Leading 43-41 after three quarters, the host Skyhawks outscored the Knights 20-14 in the fourth.
Clay Henricksen led Grsyslake North (7-19, 2-7) with 24 points. Brandon Schroth added 11.
Mike Dixon had 23 points for Johnsburg.
Lake Forest 56, Lakes 50: The Scouts' free-throwing shooting down the stretch allowed them to pull out the North Suburban crossover game.
Lakes (19-7) had opened up a 10-point lead at the end of the first quarter.
Warren 48, Wauconda 41: The Blue Devils stayed hot, winning their sixth in a row, as Brandon Paul scored 18 points.
Connor Dimick had 18 points for Wauconda (11-16), while Eric Grozavescu added 10.
Libertyville 90, Antioch 53: Myles Burton scored 17 points to lead four players in double figures for the visiting Wildcats, who hit their season-high point total.
Libertyville (10-15) also received 15 points from Joey Aiello and 12 apiece from Paul Aynilian and Jeremy Letchford.
Lamarr Pottinger had 18 points for Antioch (1-24). Mike Powell scored 12.
