Gramley, Krauspe, Carter in Kaneland 302
Two incumbents and a newcomer were elected to the Kaneland District 302 school board Tuesday, according to unofficial results. Five candidates had sought three four-year terms. With all 15 precincts reporting, the top three candidates and their vote totals were incumbents Elmer Gramley, 2,002, and Cheryl Krauspe, 1,574, both of Elburn, and challenger Kenneth Carter of Maple Park, 1,319. Finishing with the bottom two totals were incumbent Jonathan Berg of Elburn, 1,122, and challenger Pedro Rivas, who did not provide a town of residence, 1,069. There were 3,583 ballots cast in the contested school board race for a voter turnout of 25 percent, according to the Kane County clerk's Web site. The district has 14,473 registered voters.
