Art wanted to raise funds:

Artist and gallery owners willing to donate their work to help others are being sought by Arabella House, a residential care home for women with eating disorders. The artwork will be sold at the sixth annual Candelight Vigil for eating disorders from 6:30 to 8 p.m. May 18 in the Healing Garden of Linden Oaks at Edward Hospital, 801 S. Washington St., Naperville. Proceeds will go to the Edward Foundation and be earmarked for the Arabella House Scholarship Fund, which helps provide treatment for women unable to pay for the care they need to recover from eating disorders. Artwork should be dropped off by May 9 at Arabella House, 806 Edgewater Drive, Naperville. For details, call Bev Watson at (630) 355-3813.

Auto shops help pantries:

Two DuPage County auto repair shops, Auto Plus in Addison and CK Auto Repair in Lombard, are offering drivers a free 65-point inspection in exchange for five canned goods to donate to local pantries. Drivers will be advised on what needs to be repaired now and what can wait. Baseball season in Warrenville:

The Warrenville Athletic Association's opening day is today at Summerlakes fields near Johnson School, 2S700 Continental Drive, Warrenville. Resident Shelly Ansiel will sing the national anthem at 11:30 a.m. and State Rep. Michael Fortner will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Games start at noon. There'll be hot dogs, pizza and other concessions for purchase. Local vendors supporting the event include Rosati's Pizza, McDonald's and Family Foods.
