Hoffman Estates rolls to invite title beating Belvidere N., Plainfield S.
Hoffman Estates made a convincing statement in its Hawk Invite girls soccer tournament.
The Hawks beat Belvidere North 8-0 and Plainfield South 4-0 on Saturday and finished 3-0 in the tournament as they outscored their opponents 16-1.
Leah Tednes and Maddie Harford were the Hawks' all-tournament selections. In the win over Plainfield South, Tednes had 2 goals, Melanie McGinn had an unassisted goal and Crissy Tooren had a goal and an assist.
Hersey 0, St. Viator 0: Hersey's Julia Fredian had 3 saves in the cross-town battle.
Leyden 1, Niles West 1: Lucero Aguilar converted a penalty kick for Leyden in the nonconference draw.
