Scottish fest
The 40th annual Scottish Festival & Highland Games returns to the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 Manchester Road, Wheaton. New this year is a performance by the world champion Inverraray & District Pipe Band, a World Cup watch party and a salute to U.S. veterans by 1,000 bagpipers in honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Folk and bluegrass celebration in Evanston
Sons of the Never Wrong, claw hammer banjo player Jonas Friddle, Don Stiernberg and The Bluegrasstics, The Cajun Strangers and Evanston’s own Sullivan Sisters are among the folk, bluegrass and Americana ensembles scheduled to play Studio5, 1934 Dempster St., Evanston, as part of its Down Home Weekend. Ensemble Español at 50
