Summer meals campaign gets major boost with matching gift from Naperville business

Many families in towns across DuPage and Will counties feel stress at the end of the school year, knowing that as the cost of groceries continues to rise, children at home for summer can take a toll on the household budget.

Naperville’s John Greene Real Estate has joined West Suburban Community Pantry’s Summer Meals campaign so families may rely on the pantry to fill the gap they may face during summer break. The Summer Meals campaign will keep shelves stocked with fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, cold milk, mac and cheese, healthy snacks, and more, ensuring kids are nutritionally fueled all summer.

The Naperville firm has offered a matching gift of $25,000 so donor’s gifts could provide twice as many meals for families struggling with rising costs.

“Summer should be a time of joy and growth for every child, but when school doors close, thousands of local kids lose access to the steady school meals they rely on. That is why a $25,000 matching gift from john green Real Estate is so impactful to us,” said Maeven Sipes, CEO of West Suburban Community Pantry.

“By multiplying the gifts we receive, donors will be even more inspired to join our Summer Meals campaign to ensure children in our community enjoy a happy, healthy summer,” Sipes said. “We are very grateful for the support john greene Real Estate offers to the pantry all year long through volunteering, food drives, event sponsorship and board leadership.”

The firm’s president and CEO, Tim Greene, said, “At john greene Real Estate, supporting the communities we serve has always been part of who we are. We are honored to partner with the West Suburban Community Pantry’s Summer Meals campaign and the important work they do for families in our community. We hope this matching gift not only helps provide nutritious food to local families but also inspires others to join in making a difference this summer.”
