Schaumburg Boomers sold to owners of Kane County Cougars
After 14 seasons, attorney Pat Salvi and his wife Lindy have announced they’re selling the Schaumburg Boomers baseball team to REV Entertainment.
REV is an Arlington, Texas-based affiliate of the Texas Rangers that bought the Kane County Cougars in Geneva last year.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the Schaumburg Boomers into the REV family,” company President Sean Decker said in a statement. “Pat and Lindy Salvi have built a successful and respected organization in Schaumburg. Our goal is to build on the strong foundation they established, continue investing in the fan experience at Wintrust Field, strengthen local partnerships and ensure the Boomers remain a cornerstone of entertainment in the Chicagoland area for years to come.”
Pat Salvi created the Boomers franchise from scratch in 2011 after the first team to play at the village-owned stadium now known as Wintrust Field was evicted for failing to pay its rent and other bills.
“The decision to sell the Boomers was bittersweet for my wife, Lindy and I,” he said in a statement Wednesday. “Owning the Boomers over the last 14 years has been a great joy, and I am very proud of the work we have done to become an anchor of the community and entertainment destination in Schaumburg and throughout the Northwest suburbs. REV Entertainment, led by Sean Decker, is the right organization to carry this franchise forward, and I am excited to watch them build upon our successes and lead the Boomers into the future.”
Schaumburg Mayor Tom Dailly said the village has met with the new owners and is comfortable with their plans to continue the success the Boomers have had, including four Frontier League championships and consistently leading the league in attendance.
“The Schaumburg Boomers have long been a source of pride for our community, and I want to thank Pat and Lindy Salvi for their years of dedication in building a championship organization and a first-class experience at Wintrust Field,” Dailly said in a statement. “We’re excited to welcome REV Entertainment to Schaumburg and look forward to working together to continue the Boomers’ tradition of excellence, community engagement, and family-friendly entertainment for residents and visitors alike.”
The team is moving forward with Michael Larson continuing in his role as executive vice president and general manager.
“I want to sincerely thank Pat and Lindy Salvi for their years of dedication and stewardship of this organization,” Larson said in a statement. “Their commitment laid the foundation for what this team means to our fans and our community. At the same time, I’m excited to welcome REV Entertainment and look forward to what we can build together.”
Salvi also owned the Gary South Shore Rails Cats in a different baseball league from 2008 to 2022.
