Dining out: Giordano’s adds tavern-style pizza to its menu
Giordano’s goes tavern-style
Wednesday, Oct. 22, is/was National Tavern-Style Pizza Day, and deep-dish specialists Giordano’s is marking the occasion by introducing their take on the classic thin, square-cut favorite.
They say their new tavern-style pizza features an extremely thin crust created using a technique inspired by croissant-making. Their proprietary Wisconsin mozzarella cheese is folded into the dough, “producing a light, flaky texture, and a satisfyingly crunchy bite in every square,” according to a news release.
The tavern-style pizza is available in a variety of classic and specialty combinations for dine-in, carryout or delivery at Giordano’s locations across the Chicago area.

Feeling crabby?
Florida stone crab is back in season and now on the menu at Truluck’s Ocean’s Finest Seafood and Crab, 9860 Berwyn Ave. in Rosemont, beginning this week. The tasty crab is uniquely sustainable in that fishermen can only take the claw, which grows back during the next year’s molting season. From peak season in mid-October to May 1, Truluck’s serves over 350,000 fresh, fully cooked, chilled and pre-cracked claws at its restaurants.
